Comment:

 This is a duplicate of #43092, please continue discussion there.

 Also, this is not a complete `main.log`. Please clean (e.g., using `sudo
 port clean atlas`) and attach a complete `main.log`.

 Furthermore, this problem should not come up, as `atlas` has a default
 variant (`gcc47`) which will pull in `gcc47` and provide a `fortran`
 compiler.
