 port of pylibnidaqmx, using the github repository of the maintainer, Pearu
 Peterson (https://github.com/pearu/pylibnidaqmx).
 Although the repository claims it works for python 2.5 and above, I'm not
 sure to what extent it's been tested (if at all!) with python 3, so I've
 left them out for now.
