 AFAIAC it's become (or has been becoming) practice in MacPorts to provide
 documentation and/or examples in separate variants. But there doesn't
 appear to be a configure option to skip building the examples, right?

 Oh, and I have about 61 ports that are registered rdependents on bison, 8
 direct dependents (including big ones like kde4-runtime and webkit-gtk*),
 and yet I rarely if ever used bison myself.
