I gather the system is complaining Xcode installation is incomplete - I am
able to open XCode and it appears it is working OK.
The trouble is perhaps related to the port; I am not sure what I did when
I followed that part of the instructions, the terminal was writing lines
regarding or about port 1 - I would appreciate more help with that issue.
I don't know what I need to do with the missing java headers.
Could some one please tell me what is it I need to do to overcome these
issues.

Hm. I don’t think Apple provides Java headers anymore, so you’ll have to
install the
[http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html Oracle
JDK] yourself. I don’t know which version, though.
