 Hmm, I don't know whether sqlite3 reads from stdin like that auto-creating
 a new db... Have you tried {{{".save FILE"}}} in sqlite and {{{".restore
 FILE"}}} in sqlite3?

 Could also be that they changed their db structure in the meantime!

 Yes, that's what I also saw here when I upgraded from 4.0.0 to 4.8.0. Yet
 I am not sure about the metadata stored in the db file.

 I think you should contact digiKam's developers directly and come back to
 here with what you learnt. IRC or their ML might be faster than creating a
 ticket at b.k.o. though!
