 If the wrong compiler is the culprit, then this is a duplicate of #32797,
 but it would certainly help to provide some easy-to-reproduce recipe (like
 the one in this port: testing on 10.10). That old ticket doesn't make it
 easy to find the problematic places.

 Anyway, it would probably make sense to first look into Grass 7.0 (#44056)
 before starting patching the outdated version.
