Comment:

 Yes, the `MDImporter` bundle is incomplete. I just installed `LyX` on
 request. Also CC'ing the (new?) maintainer.

 I cannot find the binary it references: `LyX-Metadata`.

 More work is necessary to figure out what's going on.

 But what I cannot reproduce is `mdimporter` not working. I will have to
 force Spotlight to reindex and retry later.
