Comment:

 I'm not sure what the good of upgrading to SVN head is (other than for
 testing) if the problem persists there as well. Normally one would stick
 to stable upstream releases with patches to fix the issue if possible.  If
 it is desireable to provide the upstream development version, a *-devel
 version of the port is typically provided.
