#47900: libgcc 5.1.0 not building on 10.6.8
----------------------+--------------------------------
Reporter: clykou@… | Owner: macports-tickets@…
Type: defect | Status: new
Priority: High | Milestone:
Component: ports | Version: 2.3.3
Keywords: | Port: libgcc
----------------------+--------------------------------
I am trying to install '''numpy''', '''scipy''' and '''astropy''' on my
machine (an old 10.6.8 with dual core) and these keep telling me that they
must install '''libgcc''' as one of the dependencies.
But each time I have tried to install this one, building it takes at least
2 hours (I have waited for a max. 3 hours) even when both cores of the CPU
are working and I just have to cancel it, as I also need to do some actual
work with that machine! What is it that makes it take longer than 2 hours?
Should I be more worried? Is it because the OS is so old? Any help will be
most welcome!
