 Unfortunately, I will not be able to look at this until next week, and I
 don't have El Capitan, if it really makes a difference.

 Has anyone tried to install `git-flow-avh`?  The `nvie` version is quite
 old, with no commits since 2012-09-25.

 The other option might be to try using the release tarballs, though I'm
 not sure that works using using the `github` port group.
