 presented regarding one of the packages and a message linking to this site
 was shown: LibcxxOnOlderSystems . I accessed the site after which I
 followed the instructions to install libcxx on the system.  This did not
 work.

 libc++ is already part of OS X 10.8. The instructions do not say to
 install it. Read the instructions again...
