#48807: python messes with terminal state on exit
-------------------------------------------------+-------------------------
Reporter: yselivanov@… | Owner: jwa@…
Type: defect | Status: new
Priority: Normal | Milestone:
Component: ports | Version: 2.3.3
Resolution: | Keywords: haspatch
Port: python26 python27 python python34 |
python35 libedit |

Comment (by eborisch@…):
Ok. Can we put a note in the python install that "if you experience issues
with your terminal after exiting Python, please install pyNN-readline or
'pythonNN +readline' and report your issues on #48807." (With the actual
URL.)
Or can we (for now) change to readline and make +libedit a variant. If the
licensing is such an issue, perhaps this will motivate someone to dig into
the underlying issue. Once the issue is resolved, switch back. It seems
silly to put out a broken version because we like the licensing better.
Any technical objections to doing this?
