 Yes:

 $ sudo port installed cctools
 The following ports are currently installed:
   cctools @877.5_1+llvm34 (active)
 }}}

 I am afraid, that Xcode 4.2 providing llvm-gcc-4.2 somehow is interferring
 with cctools, so that the assembler for ppc is not being found.
