 If another audio sink is kept current upstream for OS X compatibilty and
 will provide a better user experience I would be all for it. At the time
 of my decision to leave the faulty osx sink behind libao seemed like the
 best choice - it has relatively few dependencies - but I am open to
 suggestions.

 In other news the sun is setting on my time with MacPorts; I'll be
 switching back to Linux soon and would like to leave my ports in good
 shape upon the date of their abandonment. Would you be interested in
 taking over, Bengt?
