 When I develop, I use C++11, so I need to compile with --c++11=on. You are
 correct.

 I guess the point of a subport is to have the possibility of having both
 versions installed at the same time? I do not know how to do that
 properly.

 I know that the mongo-cxx-driver developers are working on a new version
 (see https://github.com/mongodb/mongo-cxx-driver#repository-overview). The
 new version will have c++11 anyway.
