 I had the exact same problem after upgrading macports from 2.3.3. to 2.3.4
 (with sudo port self update) and then issuing "sudo port upgrade
 outdated". It stopped at freetype 2.6.1 and looking at the log, it would
 not find install-sh. I just downloaded it from the latest sources at the
 freetype project, set the correct permissions, cleaned freetype and issues
 "sudo port upgrade freetype" again - it worked like charm. I did not know
 it was in build/unix/install-sh
