 Yeah, it's an old machine but I wanted to see if I can make use of it for
 my FCD+ and since this is the first time I'm using MacPorts I wasn't sure
 if '''gqrx''' is supported for it.

 So anyway, I did try your suggestion (`port clean/port install py27-scipy
 +gcc47`) and here is the outcome after several hours of waiting:
