 I like this fix. According to Apple
 https://developer.apple.com/library/prerelease/mac/documentation/Carbon/Reference/QuartzEventServicesRef/#//apple_ref/c/func/CGEventCreateMouseEvent
 , CGEventCreateMouseEvent can return NULL in which case the event should
 not be used or released. Checking to make sure the event is valid seems
 reasonable.
