 I am aware of the problem. The upstream developers are addressing the
 problem and I asked the maintainer of hdf5 to create something like
 hdf5-18. I'd like to see what happens in the next few days to decide
 whether to follow hdf5 or step back and stick with the old version of
 hdf5.
