 Additionally: it seems that biblatex is entirely missing from texlive.
 Installation of biblatex-biber @2.1_3+perl5_22 (recommended for use with
 biblatex-chicago) does not seem to correct this.

 The workaround is, of course, manual installation of the required material
 from CTAN and I'm putting my additional sources in
 /Users/<username>/Library/texmf/tex/latex/local/
