 Note that apple gcc 4.2 is not being used here; llvm-gcc 4.2 is being
 used. We could try blacklisting llvm-gcc 4.2, if other compilers can
 compile this.

 What version of Xcode is being used? llvm-gcc 4.2 would only be used by
 default on Xcode 4.
