 macports has the RE2 library available as devel/re2, which is great.

 What would make it even greater, is the C glue code (RE2 being in C++)
 called "cre2", available from

 https://github.com/marcomaggi/cre2

 With this glue C projects can transparently use RE2, without having to do
 the extern "C" dance themselves.
