 Well, I misread the ticket.  I thought the patch mentioned was the same
 one that was committed to master and reverted due to breakage elsewhere.
 But it appears that it is not.  Will do some testing with it, but I'm
 suspicious because no final fix has been committed upstream yet.  Have
 pinged the ticket for a status update.
