 The ports seems to
 [https://build.macports.org/builders/ports-10.9_x86_64-builder/builds/12984
 build fine] on the buildbot at the moment.

 I would be grateful for further feedback & whether or not this is still a
 problem.

 Then again I would be in favour of removing this port, you can install
 `i686-w64-mingw32-binutils` now.
