 The error was:

 }}}

 I would suggest you to install `i686-w64-mingw32-gcc` instead.

 I don't think that spending any time fixing the ancient beast is worth any
 effort. I needed a cross-compiler, but this one wasn't able to compile any
 slightly more modern C++ code.
