 Btw, it's not entirely impossible that wxWidgets would be to blame.
 (That's not to say that you shouldn't contact the gnuplot community.)

 Could you perhaps try to replace `wxWidgets-3.0` with `wxWidgets-3.2`
 inside gnuplot's `Portfile`, add `revision 1`, rebuild gnuplot and check
 whether that makes any difference? (It might be even worse, I don't know,
 we never tested gnuplot against wxWidgets 3.1.)
