 Well, it's taken a while, but I've made some progress on a "native"
 Audacity, thanks to progress by the Audacity team.

 I even got it to build in 64bit mode.

 The build system doesn't provide a way to create an app bundle; it seems
 I'll have to "retrofit" the app bundle skeleton around the regular
 executable.
 Until then, audacity "native" lives in port:audacity-devel, which can be
 found here: https://github.com/RJVB/macstrop/tree/master/audio/audacity-
 devel
