(`port installed p5.22-sgmlspm`). Unless there is something weird about my
system, the build of 1.1 results in the extra .pl file extension.

Yeah, I update every week or two from svn. Not sure how it slipped by, but
perhaps I didn't have it installed? There are other XML-related ports with
outstanding issues that I've been occasionally trying to reproduce by
reinstalling packages...
