 Same problem here on OSX-10.10.5, with Xcode 7.2.1.  After failing with
 the default (+gcc5 variant), I tried adding:

 {{{
 sudo port install octave-odepkg +gcc5 configure.compiler=macports-gcc-5
 }}}

 Still no success.  I am attaching the log for the last mentioned attempt
 for forms sake, as it looks like I get the same config error as Jonathan.
