New description:

 Installing gimp-app stops with the following error message:

 {{{
 Error: org.macports.configure for port webkit-gtk-2.0 returned: Invalid
 value for configure.compiler: clang >= 300 <= 503
 }}}

 I attach the log file.

 (Mac OS X 10.7.5, Xcode 4.6.3)

Comment:

 Jeremy, the compiler_blacklist_versions portgroup only implements compiler
 version number checking for the `compiler.blacklist` variable, not the
 `compiler.whitelist` variable. I haven't looked into whether the portgroup
 could be extended to handle that second variable as well...
