ffmpeg provides an example of how to use this API in
/opt/local/share/ffmpeg/examples/filtering_video.c. Hopefully, this is
what the upstream developers will do.
Indeed. There is a patch proposed in the KDE review board
([https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/126992/]), but the patch apparently
has its own issues at present, and is meant for the Qt5 version, so that
it would need porting for use here, so that I did not include it for now.
