Comment:

 Are you using Xcode 4.x? The log shows the failure is that llvm-g++ does
 not understand a compiler option, but MacPorts should only be defaulting
 to llvm-g++ with Xcode 4.x. The recommended version of Xcode for Snow
 Leopard is 3.2.6, because that is the last free version.
