Comment:

 This is a feature called `localepurge` on other distributions such as
 Debian.

 The functionality should not be done in post-destroot, but instead at the
 time of activation. The archives should contain all the files, since they
 need to be reproducible. Since they are compressed, that would not waste
 much disk space anyway.

 Also, this should work for all ports and not be in a PortGroup at all.
