 I install MacPorts as a low privilege user.[[BR]]
 As such, the use of {{{sudo}}} is often unnecessary.[[BR]]
 Adding sudo before {{{curl}}}, {{{patch}}}, and {{{rm}}} might allow the
 procedure to work.[[BR]]
 Setting up a [https://guide.macports.org/chunked/development.local-
 repositories.html local repository] would allow you to avoid much of this
 {{{sudo}}} business.
