 It would be odd that you're on 10.11.6 and your universal archs are set to
 include ppc.

 the configured universal_archs 'ppc i386' are not sufficient.
 }}}
 There is no version of 10.11.6 that could run on PPC.

 So -- perhaps have a look at `/opt/local/etc/macports/macports.conf` and
 change the universal_archs to 'x86_64 i386'

 While you're there, look the rest of that file over as well, as it seems
 you might have brought it along unchanged from about 10 years ago if it's
 still referencing ppc.
