 Thank you, but I think the dependency should have been
 `path:lib/libcrypto.dylib:openssl` instead.

 I have asked multiple times for clarification regarding why I was
 previously asked to change from `libcrypto` to `libssl` (the `lib:` to
 `path:` part is clear now) but there was no reply. I don't understand why
 the port should look for the existence of a library that it does not link
 against.

 Could you please shed some light on the matter, cal at macports.org?
