Comment:

 Can you please provide a standalone more precise example? That is, try to
 plot `sin(x)` and similar rather than making the example depend on a
 specific data file. And specify which terminal you are using.

 Under both versions `dashtype 1` creates a solid line for me, but
 `dashtype 2` works as expected. There is also a problem with quotation
 marks in the first line (`"red" 1"`).
