 On the contrary. Unless I'm mistaken (I didn't check)
 `CMAKE_OSX_ARCHITECTURES` is actually needed to build universally, so it
 should stay.

 I would only disable `CMAKE_OSX_ARCHITECTURES` on request. From what I
 know this is only a problem when Fortran is involved.
