Comment (by RJVB):

 In fact, there was already a provision for reading a system-wide config
 file which I've resurrected and adapted. port:QtCurve-extra now installs a
 stylerc file there which overrides the hardwired defaults.

 I'll attach 2 screenshots showing the difference.
