 I do not know why permission is denied. I'm curious what permissions are
 required and how to determine if they have been granted. I also want to
 know how to grant them.  I have been able to successfully complete two
 other ports (cabextract and unzip). I will complete the instructions you
 have provided and report back with the outcome.
