New description:

 Hello ,

 i am using MacPorts on Leopard Powerpc 10.5.8 and repeatedly run into

 {{{
 Warning: port definitions are more than two weeks old, consider updating
 them by running 'port selfupdate'.
 }}}

 altough i several times run succesfully "sudo port selfupdate" and let it
 process by compter

 {{{
 rich-kus-powerbook-g4-15:~ richku$ sudo port selfupdate
 ---> Updating MacPorts base sources using rsync
 MacPorts base version 2.4.0 installed,
 MacPorts base version 2.4.1 downloaded.
 --->  Updating the ports tree
 ---> MacPorts base is outdated, installing new version 2.4.1
 Installing new MacPorts release in /opt/local as root:admin; permissions
 0755
 }}}

 it takes a very long time (powerbook g4 1,67ghz() to update...

 why does it install as root:admin? and why does it fail after finishing?
 \\
 eg, when i try to install something, it again says

 {{{
 Warning: port definitions are more than two weeks old, consider updating
 them by running 'port selfupdate'.
 }}}

 Thanks

Comment:

 Ok, so is everything working now? Has the `port definitions are more than
 two weeks old` warning disappeared?
