 I don't understand the "fixed as usual" bit (I'm not familiar with this
 kind of a fix, but I'm not a regular user of 10.6).

 But that indeed means that there is a bit of a bootstrapping problem at
 the moment and we would run into problems if we simply changed the default
 version without changing anything else (installing the binary "doesn't
 count").

 What would be the best/proper fix?
