 I confirm this error and I am seeing this on macOS 10.12.6 with XCode
 8.3.3 and MacPorts 2.4.1 while aiming for developing a newly formed
 ''forked-daapd'' port.

 Thanks for the fix and I will try the workaround procedure of downgrading
 gperf, building gindent, and then upgrading gperf again too. However,
 without a prior install of gperf I will have to follow the more cumbersome
 procedure as detailed by the
 [[https://trac.macports.org/wiki/howto/InstallingOlderPort | MacPorts
 Wiki: How to install an older version of a port]], I presume.
