 I don't have a good answer for you at this time, other than MacPorts
 installed them for you because it thought it needed them to build a port
 you asked it to build. It may be possible to reduce the number of
 compilers needed, but I don't know specifically what would need to be done
 to accomplish that. Resolving #55444 may help. Further adjustments to the
 MacPorts base compiler fallback list may be needed. One change
 [changeset:c4107fcd483646853321027af2e123aa0e70a1ce/macports-base was
 already made there] and not yet backported to MacPorts 2.4.x; I've
 [https://lists.macports.org/pipermail/macports-
 dev/2017-December/036968.html suggested] we backport that and release a
 new version of 2.4.x.
