 My advice would be to just leave them. It is somewhat inefficient, to be
 sure. However, the various ports that called these in are often written to
 specific compiler/llvm setups. Sometimes things build with one but not
 with another. There are idiosyncracies, many of which will probably never
 be resolved on these old systems.

 I consider it a price to be paid to keep these 10+ year old systems
 working.
