 Weird that the error message talks about g++ not understanding
 `-stdlib=libstdc++`, when the log clearly shows that g++ isn't being used;
 clang++-mp-3.4 is, and clang++-mp-3.4 does understand `-stdlib=libstdc++`.

 But sure, as we know, clang doesn't work on ppc, so we should adjust base
 to pick a better compiler on ppc.
