 It appears then, that this is covered in some detail here:

 and i'll have to decide whether to uninstall gr-osmosdr and gnuradio
 and/or their dependencies, make the switch, install again.
 or
 bump up to 10.9 and follow the migration instructions. I've been so happy
 with 10.8.5 on these machines and am not real keen on running yet one more
 version of an os . . . .

 but i guess that's my problem to deal with . . . thanks for the help!
