 You won't want to hear this perhaps, but I just installed hadoop to see
 what's up, and it installed in a couple of minutes without any trouble (on
 this 10.7 machine I had here at hand). I guess it must be something about
 your java setup that has been changed with whatever you did to allow Adobe
 to work.
