 Updated patch for the pre-pkg phase.  Prepares preinstall and postinstall
 scripts and creates user-friendly description for the installer splash
 screen.  (Could also supply as a pull request if someone can walk me
 though the process.)

 Installer log from test installation into a VM also attached.
