Good. I'll then update the paths in kde4-kile (since you confirmed that
even older systems use the newer one), and close the ticket.

Possibly, but this involves several packages, which could involve some
work out of the scope of this ticket in my opinion. I'll have a look at
it.

This is a wild guess, but it is possible that a port had a default +docs
variant, which then propagated to others, but I may be wrong here.
